I’m a bit older and nylon cloathes were really common in the 70:s and 80:s, and still are.annabell-cagoule wrote: August 8th, 2024, 9:31 am Born in the early 70’s and grew up with nylon rainwear, cagoules, nylon clothes, I discovered a liking for them from a young age and have loved wearing them ever since![]()
For a period in the 80:s and beginning of the 90:s, rainwear made of quite thin nylon with stripes along jacket sleeves and the pants were very popular here in Sweden. Almost everyone had a set of them. They were windproof but didn’t keep water out for so long.
Adidas made the best ones when it came to be waterproof, think they had some coating on the inside.
Were they popular in GB too?
They were very swichy and I loved them. First my girlfriend for some years had a blue, shiny one and she used it daily. I loved to play with her wearing that rainwear and see her jogging in it.
Later my wife had a red one and I had a similar one, that was swichy walks I can tell. And we used them when out sailing, lovely when the nylon got a bit wet, so shiny.
Still love to wear them but my wife doesn’t, she have new rainwear but still of nylon but Gore tex.
