A buttoned up nylon pakamac is the one for me!
Yep love nylon packamacs very sexy feeling when covered in nice thin plastic sheeting on the bed and wrapped up in it.
I remember those Kays catalogues. Anyone have any cuttings of the pvc rainwear pages they can post here. Didn't Exchange & Mart have a section for rubber rainwear and underwear? Discovering Relate magazine was a revelation. They did a Rubber Handbook version one time with a yellow cover.... Search magazine had some mackintosh content I seem to recall. Then there was Shiny magazine and Dressing For Pleasure.

For me discovered my life of plastic pleasures through a page 3 girl wearing a pink shiny jelly jacket and the effect laying on a black pvc rubbish sack (when black sacks where plastic) like previous cut photos out of magazines, newspapers on withe plastic bags, would make a stick together plastic bags to make an outfit I love head to toe wrapped in plastic this before I started secondary school. Then had a friend who wore a blue pvc mackintosh to school gorgeous look, all before I had a weekend job at 14 and bought my first pvc jacket from C&A
Mmm can't beat a lovely body wrap in plastic/ polythene head to toe
I seem to remember that the local newspaper always had photo's of various outdoor events, in the wetter months of the year they very often had images of women wearing cagoules and other shiny rainwear which for me were always a secret pleasure.

There are people on Flickr capturing old catalogues like Kays but there must be so many more out there to discover...
I bought coats from South Bucks, Hamilton Classics and Weathervane 30 or more years ago from printed adverts. I still have them and they are all in good condition and remain waterproof despite the number of times that they have been used for 'fun' both indoors and outdoors. My Aquo boots are still pretty good too. It seems that product quality has gone down in adverse ratio to the growth of the Internet and the migration of manufacture to China.
In addition to my SBR and PVC coats and sou'westers, I have a pair of Coarse Fisher waders and a pair of Argyle wellies.
