Wearing rainwear when shopping for rubberboots should come natural, atleast to rainwear fetishist. After all, most of the time you´re out in gear you also wear rubberboots. So making sure the rainwear fits/goes with the boots is a natural thing to do... I always use that as an "excuse" for wearing ...

Got no experience of that type of rainwear, but when ever I´ve come across a piece of rainwear at a junkshop (most of my gear is second hand, found some really great pieces for next to nothing...) that had a really strong smell (most of the time cigarette smell) what I´ve done is the following ...

I´m not a nylon fan and I don´t wear raincoats either, haven´t got one to start with... But if I had a sbr coat I would be wearing it all the time :P
As for favorite gear, I like the "full protection" thing, rubberboots, rainpants (pvc, pref bibpants) and rainjacket + (depending on where I am ...
