Long muddy walks in the pouring rain are so nice

it's useful in heavy rain as it covers my legs and the saddle - it's calf length even when i'm in the saddle, so it covers the tops of my boots. rain just runs down the coat and then down the outside of the boots

i have one of the long waxed drizabone stockman's coats i wear sometimes

More fun when it's a bit cold - you can get lovely and cold and wet, then it's so nice when you go indoors into the warm again

I've got a goretex jacket and overtrousers, worn over greeen hunter wellies with the overtrousers outside the boots so the rain wwon't run down into them

Next time it's raining hard, I think I'll decide that someone should check all the hedges and fences around the fields atthe stables where i keep my horse. Should keep me out in the rain hour hours in hunters and waterproofs

I love hacking out on my horse in the rain, but it's a lot of work cleaning my tack afterwards
