Yes I think so.
Was a good era the thirties.
The 50's for plastic and pvc raincoats.

I was born in the sixties, and the mack's of choice in those days were plastic and nylon. Mary Quant came out with the PVC, but for me they were merely fashion. My particular preference is for the crisp and swishy nylon, because something must have happened to me in early childhood for this to have such a powerful effect on me. I do also have a couple in rubber, but nylon mackintoshes are my favorite.

PVC for fashion yes the 60's
There were plastic raincoats dating back to the late 30's I believe?

Were there. There is a person, up North, not sure if she's on here, but she is a great historian on matters of plastic/nylon rainwear. She seems to know everything on the subject.

Wonderful. As are your own video's, many of which I have enjoyed over the years. Shame we don't live any closer.

Plastic coats do seem to have been around for some time!

Said in exactly the right tone by someone who "understands", the word "mackintosh" can reach parts that other words cannot reach.

My wife always seemed to refer to them as her rubber raincoats or rubber trench coats.
