What are peoples favorite colours for rainwear then?

Post by cragsta2012 »

Hi all, having read various posts on what types, colours and materials people would like to wear in public without raising too much unwanted attention, I was just wondering what other members favorite colours, materials are?

If, in an ideal world where you wear what ever you wanted without getting unwanted hassel what would you most like to wear out in the rain and in what colour?

My personal favorite item(s) would have to be my partners gloss red PUL PA4 hooded raincoat and a very close second is her yellow short trench coat. I just love shiny bright, bold, primary colours. Other than a quick trip round to our local postbox at 2 a.m. in the morning, I've yet to wear anything like the above out during the day in a public place.

So, what does everybody else think on this? Not too sure if it's been asked before but I'd love to see what other people here love to wear.

my favourite is still the original pakamac type plastic raincoat in the see thru grey, but generally i wear my jeantex blue raincoat out in the rain, not too conspicuous and serves the purpose well

Well I'm old-fashioned I guess but when it rains I wear one of two single-texture mackintoshes both in fawn.

The lady wears a shiny black mackintosh from Rainmac or a Weathervain single-texture trench coat in navy blue satin or the new "Lady Harper" single-texture mackintosh in black satin.

Love 'em all.

My preference stems from childhood experiences where there seemed to be only black - so black it is for me. My wife predominantly wears shiny black PVC items (coats, jackets, leggins, boots, tops) - maybe 80%, but also has red and white for the occasional change of mood.

My favourite is my long red rubberised satin mac which I always wear tightly belted, collar up and hood securely fastened under my chin.
I also like my black SBR coat with matching souwester.

For my own preference,I prefer black semi transparent pvc. I wore my long black pvc mac out in this mornings rain. I would love to wear a shiny black non see through mac also, but don't have one. On women, shiny black pvc looks good, but blue looks good too.Mind you, women look good in any colour of pvc macs!

My love of rainwear is for heavy duty PVC oilskin types, and I like the bright orange, flourescent yellow, bright green (chemical suit type) or even olive green. For me there is absolutely no problem being out and about in the heavy industrial / fishing type rainwear, no one gives a second look, especially with the ammount of hi viz gear that's around these days, all anyone sees is the bright colour, the fact it's also slippery smooth PVC doesn't seem to register!
