I just bought a Rainmac

I did something a couple of years I never dreamt I would do...actually going into a shop dedicated to rainwear and buy a mac designed for ladies.....not for a lady as my wife of 25 years and myself split up in 1999

I saw some nylon macs on the Rainmac website and decided to actually visit the shop

A somewhat pleasant trip on public transport and on arrival at the shop I couldnot believe the window displays

On entering the shop I just browsed whilst the elderly shop assistant attended to a couple

My favourite macs are nylon and there was a below the knee one in a gorgeous appealing light blue

I nearly chickened out of buying it...I told the assistant it was for my "wife" and she was approximately the same size as me

Would you like to try it on? I was asked and there I was being helped on with a ladies mac

I purchased it and I think the lady in the shop saw through my false reason for buying it

Did she detect my inner excitement?

No worry...to her it was a sale

I returned home and tried it on.....

Has anyone ever worn a mac and not wanting to take it off

Indeed Rainmac do some nice macs...reasonably priced as they are good quality and if you have never visited the shop...worth thinking about it

I bought a nylon mac from Rainmac a little while back.
They are the business look smart and reasonibly priced.
Might go for the green one when they are next in stock.

I love Rainmac. I'm sure the staff are rainwear fetishists too as i visted once just as they were closing (i got my times mixed up). They offered to stay and open up again but i declined. Both assistants were dressed in rainwear even though it was only overcast. One was in her 40's the other probbaly 50's. I suppose if you work there you are likely to use the product, but both seemed to very keen to wear their macs.

Must visit again soon.

Rainmac is a great store. The staff are so helpful. I have five of their nylon macs including two long red ones. I always try on and there is never a problem. I have even worn a red mac when I visited the shop when it was raining.
I wore one of my red nylon Rainmacs yesterday while out even though it had stopped raining. and went into two shops and no problem. This morning I wore a womens nylon rain jacket.

Wow, I didn't realise this shop was so close.

If it raining at the weekend, I may have to make a trip up there to have a look around and see what I fancy getting.

Both had nylon ones on as it was spring summer time. One was a green 3/4 length hooded coat (it didn't look like one of their standard styles) and the other lady was in a light blue one from memory. I also remember seeing two middle aged ladies wearing long shiny pvc macs, walking back to their cars as i was parking up, which must have been Rainmac ones too.

Rainmac is in Midhurst - I will be staying near there in September for Goodwood Revival so will have a look plus keep my eyes skinned for you guys wearing your nylon rainwear.
