There are ponchos and ponchos(if this makes sense)

The ponchos worn at Wimbledon and I dare say other "events" are worn just as "emergency protection" against the sudden downpours

But how nice it would be to see someone out...perhaps walking,,,in a more expensive poncho

Wouldn"t look out of place and maybe a start to the reintroduction of lightweight(plastic/nylon) rainwear being seen on a more regular basis

Will it happen.?....it would be nice

Perhaps I should have said they were the cheap flimsy ponchos!

Why buy the cheap ones when there are these

The cheap "garbage bag" ponchos don't do a thing for me...and they really look like they don't do a thing as far as rain protection goes...you'd probably be better off wearing an actual garbage bag.

mmmm...a reason to like ponchos as in these photos but me...an old traditionalist

Now if I was a tennis fan and was heading to Wimbledon I would put my lightweight mac in my bag before leaving home...then should I get caught in a sudden shower I wouldn"t be making a mad rush to find someone selling these "emergency ponchos"...seems to be called "emergency ponchos" by several sellers on ebay

And after the rain has stopped I take my mac off...in my bag ...ready for the next shower...whereas these "emergency ponchos" are discarded.......the wearer(s) seem to be prepared to buy another one on another day should the weather take a turn for the worse whilst they are out

Well...into the second week at Wimbledon and looking at the weather forecast could be going into a third week

So more sightings of those cheap ponchos

Wonder if those that sell them at Wimbledon put a couple of pounds on the price...reckon there is money to be made
