The rainwear scene is deteriorating ?

Again i have to stick my hand in the air and admit Ive taken random pix in the street but it just doesnt sit right with me and thats important to me

Its a personal thing, i appreciate others think differently and accept that, each to their own

I think it's OK to take street photos if you avoid showing the person's face.
Personally I like streetshots.

I don't think the 'rainwear scene' is deteriorating at all. You can still buy SBR mackintoshes and there are plenty of places on the net and in the high street you can buy pvc rainwear. Shiny black raincoats have always had a fetish conotation and I probably would never wear any of my PVC raincoats in the high street. I've been very wary about wearing my SBR mackintosh in public but I've never yet seen anyone taking a blind bit of notice.

I wear my lovely old mid-fifties or early sixties SBR mack all the time, even when it's not raining and barely anybody - guys or girls alike - take the slightest bit of notice. It's shiny, but so are many leather coats that guys also wear.

I wouldn't have the balls to wear your shiny red one at all, not even in the rain: do you ever receive many really strange looks, or laughter or negative/rude comments whilst out & about in your macs?

Its very rare to get any negative comments, however my red mak seems to draw a lot of very favourable attention. I often receive compliments such as, wow what a nice coat, I wish I had one of those for the rain, etc from both men and women, perhaps its that Toronto, Canada is a very cosmopolitan city, and numerous people wear rainwear here especialy downtown. Generally with gfew exceptions the attitude is one of envy!
