Sometimes one gets pessimistic about the future for good old rainwear, because the technical textiles are gaining more and more market share. So why not start to give the next generation positive experiences by letting them play freely outdoors whatever the weather might be. I have recently seen two proofs of this development. First this American school that bought dungarees for all their pupils

and then this test of Rukka childrens rainwear and the most positive feedback

maybe we still have hope that the good old rainwear will survive...
We have hope in the new generation

Very positive report plus comments from other people - live in hope
Broad minded enough to acknowledge we all enjoy different things:)

it runs in cycles; rainwear was popular in the 20s, and then the late 70s.
so its about due.
in 1974 less than 10% of college girls had rainwear, by 1976 it was easily 70%

It seems to me that most mainstream manufactures of clothing want to produce echoes of what the high end fashion houses are creating, so unless they start using PVC or rubber at the top it's unlikely to filter down the pyramid. It's sad to say in these eco-friendly days that oil based products such as PVC are falling out of favour as the planet's reserves of oil are running out, people would rather put petrol in their cars than put on a rain suit and walk.

Don't despair, young adults will come to fetishes due to positive personal experiences and the internet. Though idealized fetish clothing becomes scarce, they'll find ways to enjoy it. It may not be the numbers that we desire, a few will trickle. So that is why sites like this and regnfrakker need to stay visible. I'm doing my part with my amateurish work
