Hello all,
Maybe the one or other here is interested what happened this weekend in London….
We arrived Friday evening at Stansted , all undergrounds were working well and we got off at Limehouse early enough to buy some food. We had the keys from a flat of a good friend who was on holiday (it is not a quite one, but with a nice view at the Thames).
Next morning we woke up early and had a huge program planned …. We checked the weather forecast and it looked like it will be sunny this day till the evening. But we are in London and the weather can change rapidly. So we packed our backpacks…. Wellis for me, wellis for her, long heavy pvc-raincoat for her, rain jacked and rain pants for me, warm pullover for both of us, blanket, some food and drink of cause for the night (of the proms).
At first the underground took us to the other side of the city. Kewgarden, Wethervain was the target… only to look around there a bit. Due to the hint of Slyfox, I called at Friday and asked if the shop is open on Saturday. And it was open… We entered, looked around a bit talked with the lady, played with her dog and Su tried on the one or other coat. Suddenly she stands in front of me…. With a black heavy, shiny SBR, a riding mac, single breasted, she buttoned up and tightened the belt. Wow, this one was like custom-made for her, she looked gorgeous. Maybe you know the feeling, the addiction, I must have it. We looked at the price, oh gosh, Su looked at me and said, you are crazy ….. and I thought the same. My brain was hard working to find out who was blamable in my childhood that I’m such a crazy fetishist. But as often I’m trying to find out why, or because of what, I like (woman in) raincoats so much, I can’t find an answer. Su looked again and again in the mirror, turned left and right, the mac rustled and she smiled, she liked what she saw..(;-))) and she saw my face in the mirror and I must have grinned like I’m in heaven . Then she remarked that the coat has no hood and she hate it when her curly hair gets wet . Yeap, of cause for a SBR you need a matching sou’wester .
We agreed to share the work now, I was jogging to Kew Garden “center” back, with a deep smile on my face and the credit card in my pocket. The second bankomat was working, 500Pound… I‘m crazy…I’m an idiot…and jogging back. Meanwhile the lady measured Su’s head for the tailored hat (I hope it will arrive soon). We talked a lot with the lady and I told her that someone else, found a closed door during opening hours more than one time. She runs the shop together with a man. He was busy in the recent weeks with some other important things and left the shop some days earlier, or made a longer lunch etc.. The best is to call them in advance I think, and tell them when you will arrive.
Outside it was meanwhile sunny and over 20°C, and we packed all warm clothes in the heavy and full backpacks, and on top the heavy SBR.
When we were back at Kew Garden station we decided to cancel the visit of “Honour”(fetish shop) due to empty wallet and missing time. So we drove direct to the center to pay the Thames festival a visit. It was very crowded and with our big and heavy rucksacks it was not funny after a while. The time was running and we had to take a next underground to Harrods. 4 o’clock tea at 5pm. We reserved a table 2 month in advance. It was so crowded that they needed 20 minutes to place us. I felt a bit misplaced with our backpacker hiker outfit. At 6:30p.m. it was time to leaf and we walked to central park to the” last night of the proms”. Next to the tribune it was very crowded but we got a nice place on the right with enough space to unfold our blanket.
The music and the 40.000 other flag swinging people were quite nice (sometimes great, depending how much I liked the musicians) . I turned my hat from time to time towards the sky and hoped that some dark clouds will occur. But the sun was shining and even after sun set no clouds. Shit…
I think umbrellas would not be the right protection on a festival like this….and there are no shelters. It must be great to see 40.000 people in their rainwear..(;-))).
I walked around a bit and saw many women with wellis. A young girl with black hunter and a very short jeans skirt… hmmm, a woman with pink hunter and black leather trousers, etc…. nice, nice.
Till the end we were not hungry again (Harrods serve at the tea time tea and very delicious food (all you can eat) and it was dry and not so cold, so the rucksacks were as heavy as before, and we walked out with the crowd. The night was young and we wanted to see what’s going on here at such a lovely evening. We reached a district with many Arabian shops, shisha bars and hundreds of young people on the streets. After some time we started to get tired when one thought stroked my brain (and woke me up again): How would Su look naked with the new SBR her hunter boots …(;-))). After 40 minutes we reached Lime House and 10 minutes later we entered our flat. But soon after arriving we got both so tired and had pain in our shoulders from the heavy rucksacks, that we only could fell in the bed.
But next morning, after the first two coffees and a light breakfast Su (and of cause I) was in the mood to get an answer for the question of yesterday evening….. (;-))).
After extensive engagement regarding this question, I was so tired again that I fall into deep sleep. Su was also tried again and doze off in her mac and rubber boots, but woke up after a short while because she sweats so much….
Later we packed all our belongings, cleaned the flat, wrote a “thank you so much letter “ for our friend and took the underground to Waterloo. It was a very sunny and warm day and at the Thames festival it was not too crowded and we could listen to nice music. Short before we had to leave we joined a concert of “Baramgot” a Korean ensemble … it was a absolute highlight, the best since Yat-Kha captured the western hemisphere… ( Yes I’m a big fan of world music..(;-)))..). I’m trying to get CDs from them in Berlin and the internet, but without success. If someone of you has a hint how to get them, pls let me know.
I, or better we, love London, and the “real” multi cultural way of live. Yes Berlin is compared with other cities or villages in Germany very open minded and multi cultural. But here are very often people, especial older men with bigger belly, are starring at Su. And if she is wearing a red or yellow shiny see through pvc u like coat with scarf or sou`wester it is often not funny in the city. In London are living so many pretty and tall half brown woman, that nobody turns the head.
The trip to Stansted and the flight back to Berlin was unspectacular, only the next day in my office was hard… my nice coffee machine was busy this day.
Since a couple of days we have a cloudy and sometimes rainy and colder weather and Su wears the SBR often, even if it doesn’t rain. Tomorrow we will met friends for a hiking tour and it will rain and I`m curious when one of them will make a comment, regarding Su’s outfit. When it is dry she wears always the same sporty things, only when it rains she is wearing all the time an other extravagant raincoat ..(;-)))
I wanted to download the pics here, but I'm to stupid.... hope the link will work...
