Cape or Not

Post by blackmacjay »

I know that I am getting older but I would like to get my wife a cape. She is not too keen on the idea.

Does anyone have a method that may work for her?

Why is she not keen?
Maybe show her photos of other ladies wearing a cape to show that others do wear capes.
Would it be worn outdoors?
If so not a pvc one.
Maybe one like this?

Given my 'druthers, she would wear it outside in our 54" of rain per year.

Well there is one good reason to wear one!
Then I would suggest a "Mr Anthony cape"

How about calling it a poncho so it sounds modern. Mind you if she isn’t keen, she is isn’t keen and forcing the issue might end up in tears.
Lets get swishy!

No, a poncho does not sound appealing to me or, more accurately, my wife.

When WeatherVain was still open, we were in there looking at SBR trench coats or 'raincoats' for my wife and the clerk suggested she should get a cape to go over the mac. The clerk, who was a young woman sid that when you get to your destination you can take off the wet cape at the door and keep the raincoat on as long as you like. Wonder if anyone else ever heard that or was she just tryoing to make a sale?
