In our appreciation of the sight/feel/smell of plastic/PVC maybe we sometimes overlook the audible. The sound of someone putting on/taking off a plastic mackintosh or apron or picking up a fresh pair of plastic pants by the waistband and giving them a good shake down before putting them on someone or oneself can also be very frisson inducing.

Lovely scene, lovely actresses and lovely coat. For me the rustling and squeaking sound of plastic garments is as important as the look and feel. The typical sounds are offen suppressed in movies unfortunately.
When it comes to plastic pants I also like the faint rustling when the elastics at the weist and legs are pulled when they are put on - followed by the sound of the snaps. As if they wanted to protest against their (ab)use before the snaps finally seal their fate.

Always loved the sound of the "snaps" or "poppers" as we used to call them at home but I don't think my mum used those sort of waterproof pants very much. It was mostly lying on your back with your legs in the air-the nappy position as it is called in another context-with your short trousers or pyjama bottoms and plastic pants at half mast, in the general vicinity of your knees.

This way you could still enjoy their rustling when they were moved into their final position - ready to get wet and dirty.

And usually a little pat on the bottom when it was all finished.
