If you go on to Google Images, Bing Images, Yandex Images, Flickr, Pinterest etc you can find photos of many fashion models from the 1960s and 1970s wearing shiny white PVC macs. White was a very popular colour for macs back then. I absolutely adore the white mac that Senta Berger wears in the movie - it's really nice!

The black Mac was fascinating,pin many ways. The collar appeared quite thick, when seen as they were driving. In most scenes the black plastic had a high sheen, but in certain full length shots, particularly when they kept hesitating to knock at the door, the lower skirt looked really dull, even more like leather. And of course, as a raincoat like so many of the day, it was largely useless, as no protection for head or legs. I’m not complaining, always loved them. Anyway, not sure a hood would work over that hair!

Cheers for that Priscilla! I think I'll just refer to it as a shiny black mac. Wonder if it was made of black patent leather? If so, it would have been bloody expensive!

Very true! I remember the scene well. Michael Caine was trying to get her attention through a cafe window - she then left the cafe and went outside to chat to him. Nice mac she wore!
