Well, I didn't know this! 'Talent' is a play written by Victoria Wood, first performed in 1978. It centres on two friends, one of whom is about to enter a talent contest in a run down nightclub. Commissioned for the Crucible Theatre, Sheffield, it received much acclaim and transferred to a London run in 1979. Never knew it kicked off in dear old Sheff. So, it wasn't from 1979 after all - it was actually running in Sheffield in 1978!

Yeah, it was great to see that - so many stills at the end and then one final scene as she leaves the chippy with her mac on. Wonderful!
