Nice pictures, the red PVC mac on number 10 in Namur is my favourite.

If I had a time machine that enabled me to visit the halcyon eras captured in these vintage photos, the first thing I'd do would be to visit every clothing store.........for PVC raincoats!

My favourite photo is number 10 (Belgium: the lady wearing a very shiny red vinyl rainjacket). Quality PVC rainwear in those days: soft and rubbery (due to phthalate plasticiser), shiny and noisy.

I think the "thing" on the side of the building is some sort of steel sculpture.JellyMan wrote: August 29th, 2022, 7:06 pm 1 and 8 are my favourites, but what the heck is that thing on the side of the building above the bus in number 13? Looks like a massive spider - creepy!

I like to think it Is a scout from an invading alien species come to take over the world. But anyone wearing shiny rainwear is immune to their grip as they cannot get a purchase on the surface (as proven by them being unable to get out a bath). After the invasion the alien spiders get bored with Earth because the gravity is all wrong compared to their home world, which causes their webs to be all messy. So they depart, leaving a planet inhabited only by people who wear shiny rainwear!rothbhoy wrote: September 4th, 2022, 1:27 pmI think the "thing" on the side of the building is some sort of steel sculpture.JellyMan wrote: August 29th, 2022, 7:06 pm 1 and 8 are my favourites, but what the heck is that thing on the side of the building above the bus in number 13?
