I like the Ilse Jacobsen coats, as well. A couple of years ago she did a black and red shiny pvc version of the same style as the matte ones are today. I tried to buy one but they wouldn't supply direct to me from Denmark and their UK distributor at the time was not getting them in for the UK retail trade. Afetr some searching I found a German in-line retailer who had them in their on-line catalogue but when I tried to buy one I found the retailer had gone bust even though their website was left live. Fortunately, no money or card details had been sent so I didn't lose anything.
Sometimes I think about getting one of her current coats but would really like to see one first. I have no doubts it will be good quality though. I'd love to get a red of black one and the lace-up wellingtons to match. Mmmm.
These people below come up on Google, alongside one or two other possible UK suppliers of the boots in particular, as a possible source of Ilse Jacobsen stuff. They are based on the South Coast near Chichester. A brief telecon indicated that, while they were currently out of stock, they could obtain items from a warehouse (provided they had them there) in about 10 days. I might go and have a look but it seemed risky to go firm on an order over the phone without seeing the coat first.
Thanks for the tip-off, I hadn't come across this shop before. So fa there are no coats displayed on their website so I'll just have to keep checking back.
