Cagoules

Post by Cagoule »

Hi - not much cagoule chat on here lately. Plenty of cagoule sightings over the past few months due to the mixed weather. Should be more now we are moving into Autumn.. Can't wait...

About 10 years ago I wore a dark blue cagoule which I wore regularly. I am thinking about buying a pvc cagoule online sometime in the future.

I love cagoules as much as pvc and plastic rainwear.

I especially love the fact that i can wear a see through pvc jacket over my naked skin and then a cagoule over the top and go walking the dog and no one bats an eyelid.

It's such a great feeling as the nylon slips over the plastic and i get hotter inside the mac.

Me to my interest started off with cagoules and has morphed into - ahem - PVC and ladies rainwear.

Kept a tally whilst on holiday in the N/E this year and saw 6 Peter Storm cagoules, all worn by women, Sky Blue being the most popular colour !!

About time they followed Berghaus lead and did a 'vintage' range :D

Well, I'd say an overhead jacket is a cagoule or you could say it's an anorak. Maybe a language thing, eh? I too have some pvc ones, all clear, like a calvin klein model and one from Roxy dating back a few years and one or two form No Fear. Seems like another criteria is having a banded wrist area to keep the wet and wind out. Any other definitions?

I'd certainly go along with the attractiveness of cagoules, particularly when worn by outdoor/sporting type young women. They look great when they glisten in the rain. And I still have a carefully-pouched, Fiorucci yoked jacket in a milky, unbacked plastic that I bought in their Knightsbridge store in 1980.

Hi Peter,

I am in total agreement, not a lot of cagoule chat on here lately, thank goodness we have your excellent blog! It's been throwing it down here for days and i've not been working i've been finding a lot of reasons to go outside for various things, fully bedecked in my navy blue peter storm cagoule and regatta isolite trousers, neatly tucked into midnight blue Hunter wellies, then a pair of slightly thicker pvc coated Highpoint trousers over my wellies and finally a vintage, navy blue regatta cagoule. Both hoods up and securely tied and the drawstrings at the waist tied securely to keep me completely enclosed and protected form the wonderful rain, the sound of the rain pattering on my head and shoulders making me tingle with anticipation....

Best Swishes
