'Coronation Street' (December 1991) - new ones to me! Audrey and Bet both wearing their long classic shiny PU/PVC macs - Audrey's is black, Bet's is her famous leopard-print one (what else?). This episode (from early December) is particularly good as we get to see the full length of both macs. :)
Best viewed on the 720 pixels setting.

Timings: Audrey (1 hour 09'-33" to 1 hour 10'-30"), Bet (1 hour 11'-42" to 1 hour 13'-07"). Watch out for an extra in a shiny black PU/PVC mac!

Also came across an episode from February 1989 that I have not seen before - Audrey, once again, in her classic long shiny black PU/PVC mac with matching shoulder bag. :)

The second clip is really good. I started watching Coronation Street from 1986 and soon noticed Audrey wearing her long black mac, I thought she looked lovely, not just in her mac, she was one of those older women who still had good looks, in that mac she looked sublime!

Cheers Rainworshipper - glad you enjoyed the post. :) Yes - I must admit I really fancied Audrey - Alma and Raquel too for that matter! :)

I've been doing a bit of digging with regards to Audrey's mac as a member of the Forum did tell me about the manufacturer of such macs some years ago - eventually found the info! It was made by a company called Harglenis and could be bought from C&A and, no doubt, other outlets too.

Here's a pic I've found of the exact type of 'Harglenis' mac worn by Audrey in episodes from the late 1980s/early 1990s. Does anyone remember them?

Like Maurice Chevalier I remember them very well. They were very popular in the 1980's. My wife had a royal blue one with a red felt lining but rarely wore it. My secretary, knowing of my penchant for shiny macs, said she would have liked to acquire one too but rapidly dropped the idea when her husband said it would be just right for going up to King's Cross "to do a bit of business"!

My wife purchased one from a John Lewis store. It retained its shiny black form for many years. One lesson we learned was that if you find a good Mac buy two as the chances of finding it again are slim to none.

I think the one that Bet wore was also made by Harglenis. Love that bit about King's Cross!
