What kind of raincoat is this?

Post by Raindancer »

So I found a very interesting picture on pinterest, and I was wondering what kind of raincoat was being worn here.

It looks like either rubber or pu. It has front pockets at the chest and shoulder epaulets, which I think gives it a really cool "tough" look. It seems to have no hood, but the girl has found the solution in the form of a souwester.

Any of you recognise this raincoat?

The rainjackets are made by a Swedish company - don't know which one (could be Farmerrain or maybe Didriksons). They are made from Galon (a completely waterproof construction of polyurethane coated textile with welded seams used for 100% waterproof rainwear). Such macs used to be worn by fishermen on the west coast of Sweden. Hope this helps.

If "Galon" is used then Didriksons should be a match as they use that kind of fabric (or that name for it).

Thanks for the suggestions, I looked up Didriksons raincoats and the material seems to fit but I didn't find this exact model. I do think it's likely a Swedish or otherwise scandinavian brand.

If you can't find it on their website it doesn't mean it's not from Didriksons. It's possible it was offered in an older collection and this jacket has been discontinued. Who knows?

I found it! It's an old Stutterheim model, that they don't make anymore. I found it on a secondhand website. The model is called "Bergshamra".
