Wide brim bucket hat or sou’wester, just better for peripheral vision than a hood; umbrella when taking romantic walks in the rain so as to facilitate snuggling

Love walking in the rain in my see-through plastic mac with hood up. Love to hear the rain hitting the hood.

If in town then an umbrella
If really wet and wild then we do tend to wear a sou'wester.
Otherwise raincoats with a hood.

Hoods for sure.
Unless an umbrella that comes with somebody to hold it for me is also an option.

Hoods, no question, preferably "mountain hoods" with wired stiffened peak and good face coverage. The late eighties Berghaus Lightning style of hood but with a nice shiny swishy nylon finish.
