This was just a reference to the temperature. At home the ambient temp is around 22 degrees

Back on the farm, Dave has got me working clearing out ditches. The muddy water is up to my crotch in places in them. I don't mind the depth as my chest waders can cope with more than that but after four hours solid the cold starts to get to me and you can guess the side effect of that. On the plus side I get to ride the quad bike around and it's great fun racing through the mud and water.

Tomorrow Dave is going to take me out on his fishing smack. He tells me to be prepared to get wet but I reckon that I'll probably get more than just a deluge of seawater. They don't call it a smack for nothing!

Next update after we've been to sea. I'm a bit apprehensive as I've not been to sea in anything smaller than the Fred Olsen Inter Island Fast Ferry before. The ferries are a reasonable size and take up to 300 passengers seated airplane style in the upper saloon with cars and trucks on the lower deck and all inside - no open deck at all. Dave's boat, on the other hand, is just 30ft long with just a small enclosed cabin where the controls are.

Watch this space

Can appreciate the difference in temperatures
Even for us hardened northerners the difference in temperature between last week and this is very notable.

Hope you enjoyed your "Smack" today ….lol

Now, now boys. I grew up in Scunthorpe too.

This "wimp" lost her virginity in Normanby Park in a thunderstorm wearing her yellow cycle cape, sou'wester and riding boots. It was scary but fun as the rain belted down on the pair of us - Dave, aka Thighbootman was the perpetrator of the 'wicked' deed.

I'm guessing a lot of boys and girls lost their virginity in Normanby Hall Car Park and grounds.
Plenty of room to be in private.

I bet you two had a great time there
Enjoy yourselves
