Remember that so clearly. No messing about it had to be put on.
Always, Andy. And buttoned to the neck (always top down), whether for school, cubs/scouts, or church
Exactly right. I had to wear mine anytime we went out. Like you buttoned from top down.
Really humiliating at the best of times but worse in summer. I had this right upto I was 18. I dare not complain.

Like Andy and Rives I too was made to wear my plastic pacamacs with their wonderful large rubbery buttons fully fastened to the throat up to the time I left school age 18 on all occasions except for school wear, when the regulation gabardine raincoat had to be worn. For economy, mine were always bought many sizes too large "to allow for growth". I was never allowed to buy or choose my own clothes unaccompanied, my mother always coming on such shopping outings. I was teased mercilessly for my first oversized pacamac that when first bought came down to my ankles and which other boys nicknamed "the dress" but in truth I loved the way the slithery plastic brushed against my bare legs in my short-trousered days and when wearing shorts for cub or scout events.

Mine had to be worn for school as well. Like you it was always bought way to big and was teased terribly over my macs and clothes. All clothes were bought by my mum with absolutely no choice.

Yes, particularly when out in public, and the weather turning, and Mother removed a folded up pakamac from her handbag, and then patiently unfolded it and held it up for me to slot my arms in before buttoning me up

Yes, pakamacs were always bought "with room for growth", even up to the age of 18

You were quite lucky that you only had to wear your mac when the weather got bad. Mine had to be worn at all times out.

Thanks for a lovely story from your experience. Understand that many of us started in our childhood or teenage.

I liked my raingear as a child, but that was far from a fetish.
For me it started as a teenager, we were all wearing shiny nylon jackets and nylon rainwear.
So the first contacts with girls bodies was when we were dressed in nylon cloathes when we played, walked our dogs, jogging or whatever we were up to.

Still love my nylon rainwear and nylon down jackets and ski pants.

For me it was probably ages 10-12, I remember we were made to wear all in one nylon puddle suits younger than that by mum and dad, i am a twin so i had red and my brother blue, but it was around 10-12 years old when first being forced and i mean forced to wear one.

It was on a PGL school week away doing outdoor pursuits by a PGL centre leader, who I swear now I think back was either a peado or just some power hungry nut job. We had to stand in a line out the front of our caravan in just our shorts and t shirts on what wasnt even a wet day and shouted at us to put on these PGL yellow pvc fishermans style over the head cagoules, they were filthy and worse of all absolutely stank!! and should have been thrown out long ago.

We all refused to wear them as they stank so bad (like rotten fish bad) I think one girl put one on and was nearly sick at the smell, but he forced us and I remember got quite threatening when all but two of us (one being me and my friend Harriet) flat out refused, until one of our school teachers came over to see what was going on, agreed with us kids and said we could wear our own cagoules we had brought with us and put in a complaint about the PGL leader who we never saw again.

So we got to wear our own which meant lots of peter storm over the head cagoules being the early 80’s, reggata stormbreaks, man alive from C&A and a friend in our bedroom of our caravan had a red zip up peter storm which I adored for some reason unknown to me at the time.
We wore them everytime we could and sat in the caravan in our free time wearing them. I think we were afraid if we took them off we would be made to wear the stinky pvc ones but they seemed to vanish once our lovely teacher had put in a complaint from the school.

A few months later playing at our next door neighbours just down the lane from our house, it started to pour with rain, i wasn’t keen to borrow one at first but they lent us some yellow peter storms cagoules to run home in so our friends mum wouldn’t get in trouble with our mum for sending us home wet.

We still got soaked by the time we got to our house and hung up the cagoules in the porch to dry. The following day I went to check if they were dry and remember having just a vest top on and slipping my arm inside one to see if it was dry and felt the smooth and shiny fabric on my bare arm, then slipped the whole cagoule on. Mum came out and asked me if i could take them back as it was now sunny but they might need them.

I walked down the lane then stopped and put one on again, then had a thought that I’d like to wear it for longer so sat for a while feeling the smooth and shiny material then hatched a plan and went back home saying our friends were out and I didn’t want to leave them on the doorstep so brought them back home. Mum praised me for being responsible and I snuck the cagoules up to my bedroom. Later that afternoon, when everyone else was out the house i put them on again and got a funny feeling down below and well, you can guess the rest. I have had a fetish for them ever since.
Lets get swishy!
