it doesn't readily shout 'fetish' when worn out in the general public.
Strangely the minute some people see a PVC / Plastic ? Rubber Mac - they start passing comments re kinky & "dirty old mans / pervs mac ". These people are very narrow minded

My partner usually wears highstreet fashion rainwear or usually a puffy jacket if we're out in the rain during the day, but not her PUL rainwear.
She'll only wear her PUL around the house or the garden unless it's a really secluded area or after dark. It's a shame as it's nice looking fashionable stuff, but it's all down to what she's comfortable with- that also goes for me too!

Yes I usually go out in either a black coat or grey pvc mac.
Though I was asked by someone to wear the red mac that is on photos on here and on youtube.

But I think I broke that a couple of days ago when I wore a red mac!

Being female,I don't have any worries in this direction, but as there are not many
proper mackintoshes around these days I feel sometime that I tend to attract attention, but who cares.................I keep dry.!!
It must have been wonderful to have been around in the 50s/60s when rubberised rainwear was fashionable and in abundance.
One can only dream.!!

think it is wiser to stick to the traditional colours like black, grey, blue for us guys, had enough trouble with bright pink boxers, was at work and had to crawl under the desk to get at the plug socket, jeans and tee shirt parted company to flash said pink boxers and the comments came along in force. Yet nobody says a word when i appear in a blue jeantex mac when it is pissing it down so it is what you wear that attracts the comments

Pity I wasnt there in My pink macs and rainbonnets, love a nice seaside walk. Most of my time in wearing macs is spent in Newcastle, not quite so interesting, but i do get a lot of nice comments. Sue

I'd of though those 50 and 60s macs would be okay to wear, as fashion wise- 'retro' is all the rage at the moment isn't it ?

As for bright colours- for me thats all the fun and appeal!
But, I'd feel more confident wearing a dull or matte material over gloss if I was out in a public place. In private though I wear gloss pvc as often as I can get the time to do so.

Green two piece suit this morning -been caravanning & got nearly washed away..lol
Suit on from getting up & taking dog out to arriving home - drove in trousers over "underwear" only
Then this aft took dog to wood - still heavy rain so Nylon overtrousers over underwear & Blue PUL long coat - plus green wellies.
Met another 4 dog walkers - not one comment
