It does not make any sense that a country known for its wet weather does not offer spectators rainwear to keep them dry. I love Ray's photo and idea though.

Being a member of this little island of ours...we call the United Kingdom...for 65 years ...like many I can safely say we have always had to contend with unseasonal weather.....one Summer unbearably hot...the next one (2012 for example)one we want to forget(rain...rain and more rain)...Same with snow....one year so much snow....then the following one mild and wet
WE used to go out prepared for the different weathers that were thrown at us...the lightweight foldaway mac that was carried in the bag just in case
Incidentally I still go out well prepared
Now how many will head off to Olympics events irrespective of the weather forecast not prepared
Think back thirty years,,,if we had the pleasure of holding the Olympics then I gurantee you would have a large majority of those attending wearing a sensible mac or carrying one with them
It seems it is just not the "in thing" to go out prepared...thus grabbing an emergency poncho which does seem to be a regular sight now
I must admit I can"t say these emergency ponchos did anything for me but seeing these photos.....must admit it has changd my mind...might even buy one
