You are right, Rainweargirl. No need of rain to be dressed in raingear.
I wear every day my wellies and one of my Klepper capes, whatever is the weather. And it is a very nice feeling to see people staring at me. As it is the way of life that I agreed to live with my Master, who likes to see me permanently dressed so when outdoor. So, each day is a happiness day to be dressed in rainwear.

I have a recent sighting to report.
As I was going home last night, I spotted two girls (about 18 or so, hard to tell as my carwindows had fogged up...) about to cross the road with their bikes, the one that caught my attention was wearing a shiny blue PVC rainjacket, slightly to big for her... looked like it could have been a rukka from the 70´s or 80´s... But her friend had a lot to learn as she was only wearing some sort of goretex jacket or something...

Yesterday I saw a middle aged couple dressed in black gortex jackets and trousers. They had the jackets zipped up and their hoods up.The woman had a knee length pink heavy pvc coat on over her jacket. This was zipped up but with the hood down.It was about 20C and just about drizzling. They were hot! They were speaking German.

On Saturday while shopping in Marks & Spencers I saw three women in gorgeous mackintoshes : The first was a young girl around 20 or so wearing a H&M style lightweight polyurethane green mac, the second woman of 40 ish wore a full length shiny Brown Barbour waxed trenchcoat and the third a male of around thirty something had a knee length Shiny Black (ladies) mack similar to the ones sold recently on the high street which you could buy in Black, red, purple or Green - I've forgotten the exact shop but they were quite popular.

For the first time in ages I made a really nice sighting today. I dropped into my local Tesco to buy some milk and the lady in front of me at the checkout was wearing a really shiny black pvc hooded jacket. I've not seen anything like it before-it had different coloured buttons running down the front and had some sort of logo on it ('Iron Fist' maybe?-couldn't really tell). The hood had a blue and purple lining.
It had been pouring down all morning and her jacket was covered in raindrops.

Hi,

I have to tell you, that in these days, my hometown Hamburg in Germany is a real rainwear fetish paradise. It's rainy since a few days and it seems that everybody has been waiting to take out their raincoats! Today I even spotted 5 (!) plastic raincoats, which I love very very much.

There is even a Hamburg-based brand called "Derbe", which has a special "Hamburg-Friesennerz" raincoat. You can find it on the web at http://shop.derbe-hamburg.de/.

My wife (who has been the first out with her beautiful raincoat) said she thinks, they all know exactly what they are doing and that finding it sexy to wear raincoats is completly normal. And if I look into the happy faces of some raincoated women, I believe, she's right.

Kind regards from Germany

You are double lucky to have nice mackintoshes on your streets and also a wife to wear a rain coat.
Think it is getting a little better here in England but nothing like the great days of the 70s and 80s when any wet day in summer could be sure of seeing lovely mackintoshed ladies.
