All rainwear discussions in general or that do not fit into other categories.

Why bother about the negative things, when you have good positive alternative groups, such as
search for 'rainwear', you'll find 10+ groups in Facebook

and in Finnish

There was one good group focusing on plastic rainwear with lots of pictures on facebook, but it has since disappeared; no idea why.

Facebook is not very tolerant when it comes to promoting sexuality of any kind in public.

One positive, while searching for rainwear-related groups on facebook I came across this site which features lots of pics & info on fashionable rainwear for men, women & children. And it even has a section on celebrities in rainwear - check out Denise Richards in her hot red vinyl trench!

There seems to be some individuals who think it is cool(no pun intended)to go about in the absolute minimum of clothing, and heap fun on anyone who doesn't dress likewise.
My guess is that anyone interested in a group like this is most likely a teenage boy who will lose interest when he gets a girlfriend or learns to drive.
He sounds American. He's a long way from me.

Well, I don't really understand why they hate people wearing raincoats as it is something you generally do wear if it's raining! Besides let us not get upset about some anti raincoat people and forget about them and just enjoy our fetish.

How many fetishes do you know that you can practise in public without raising an eyebrow apart from our fetish? I don't know of many!

As merv once said to me after I recieved this response from my work colleagues:

My post:
'I wore my mac into work a few weeks ago and had a few nice comments. One of the girls said 'i like your shiny mac it's nice' another said 'you look like a hiker' and we laughed. One guy said it looks kinky is it rubber so i said no it's better than that it's pvc and he laughed. That put me off from wearing my mac into work again but i do sometimes wear it when i'm out and it's raining and i'm not at work.'

Merv said in reply:
'ah shinymac, why worry what other people say, if you keep wearing the mac to work then it will become commonplace and nobody will bat an eyelid especially if you turn up dry when its peeing down. Can understand people may think it odd on a hot summers day but why would it be odd to wear a raincoat in the rain.'

How true is that?

I am not on Facebook either. I wish i had more opportunities to actually wear my rainwear out with others, but I do not. I have no objection if some idiots like to get soaked.

I can't understand the attitude of some (many!) people who go to the footy when it's wet; they know it's going to be wet, they can see it's wet - BUT THEY WON"T WEAR ANY KIND OF WEATHER PROTECTION!

Do they think it's funny or macho to get absolutely soaked?

Or does the beer they imbibe there somehow make them waterproof?

In the USA we have a condition known as "beer muscles", meaning when you get drunk on copious amounts of beer you start to believe you're invincible, can beat anyone in a fight and possibly think you're both bulletproof & impervious to knives as well. I guess believing you're waterproof is another phantom "benefit" of beer muscles?
