I doubt that there are many people who even know about the old - fashioned idea of the button position defining gender , and less people who notice or give a damn .When I bought a Target - Dri hip length hooded waterproof coat , the size and colour I wanted happened to be on the ladies' side of the shop , it was what I wanted so I bought it and wear it . If anyone has noticed , so what !

Some of the CDs love to see other CDs enjoy our art. Crossdressing for me is art. It does not matter if I am just around the house as inthis video or going downtown to the night club I want to always look my best.

When I was teaching how to dress up I would always tell my students that if you are not presenting something that makes people happy then you failed. I want people to look and see something different. I am not a drag performer. There is nothing wrong with drag it is just another channel to the whole idea of men wearing dresses or ladies wearing pants.

I've done this too and do find it enjoyable! I used to have a pair of Silver Wet Look Leggings I always wore under my PVC Rain Suit - it is so much easier putting boots on over them instead of Jeans.

That item from ASOS is very nice looking. While a rubber version as previously mentioned would be good, a close second would be that style jumpsuit in shiny or translucent PVC from www.pvc-u-like.com or the makeitkinky.com site. I think they could make a good version of that.

I have to add my little bit (okay - might be slightly longer than a little bit) to this interesting topic especially as I am a life long crossdresser although consider myself either transvestite or genderfluid these days.

I must confess that ladies rainwear and crossdressing went hand in hand for me right from the start. Vinyl and PVC rainwear were very much in fashion for women during the 60's and 70's and, even as a youngster, I found them extremely captivating to the extent that I eventually owned a long black PVC mac before I acquired anything else. For me the golden age of ladies rainwear was actually the late 80's to early nineties. Most coat manufacturers had a line of shiny macs - Dannimac, Cloud nine, Four Seasons etc - and, living in London at the time, there was always a sighting of a woman looking lovely in her mac on my journies to and from work. That always made my day and you can be sure that I owned quite a few in these days.

My first lady clothes were usually PVC skirts and tops or a slightly tartier look and my outfit always completed by a shiny mac. That was when I was completely in the closet. Since then I've crossed the usual makeover and tranny event stepping stones towards being confident enough to venture out to mainstream bars, shops and restaurants in lady mode. I've never encountered any negativity or animosity to date. Quite the opposite in fact.

I should however say that I've never yet worn a shiny mac in public as a lady. For one thing the fetishist signals it sends out might attract the wrong kind of attention. I still feel a tad envious of women who wear either PVC or vinyl raincoats in public. Nobody bats an eye other than with passing admiration maybe. A tranny standing 6ft 4 in heels and wearing the same rainwear has not quite the same level of social acceptability. It's still a very private pastime that I now thankfully share with a couple of likeminded friends when opportunity arises.

There are ways round this though. I actually have a passion for well-tailored mainstream ladies trench coats. I have a long Burberry trench coat and one short beige mac. I've also just purchased a shorter black trench from Rainmac.com. (Yesterday actually following the link posted by the lovely Spitfire617) It's quite a good compromise and I feel dreamy wearing them as part of my outfit for the evening. Since going out I've also found that I've started to drift away from wearing fetish clothing - even indoors!!

I think that world is slowly changing and one day I am going to take the plunge and venture out in all my tranny magnificence wearing my long Weathervain shiny PU mac. Might get away with it if it's chucking it down.

the turning point in my life was 50. I had to sample what a women's dress was like. I am 100% man but love the fashion of a lady. Do try to get out in the PVC coat Dear. I want to see it.

As far as sending the wrong signals: it happens. The trick to dressing up is to understand what our goal is and stick to it. I have had men and women ask me all sorts of questions. You need to have your answers already in the back of your mind before you step out.


One final thought: I have had friends that were destroyed by cross-dressing. Setting aside the Bible and all it has to say about a CD for a moment, it takes a strong man to be a pretty girl. You have to really understand how weighty a thing you propose to do. It can be quite fun and it can be dangerous. It all needs planning and a mentor does not hurt to have.
