Some of you will know that my husband, Marco, sadly passed over a few years ago leaving me to run the vineyard with the help of Jimmy. Well this didn't leave me with much time for anything and I dropped out of circulation. However, I'm now in a better place and have resumed my activity. I'm still very much into SBR, boots etc. and I am plannint to start writing short stories again.

As you realise, I have been off air for a couple of years during which time a lot has happened to me.
First off, Marco drowned in our top reservoir. Nobody could prove it but I had a deep suspicion that Jimmy either did it directly or at least didn't pull him out.
A few months after Marco's death I got pregnant; dodgy at my age (53) and, honestly, I didn't think it possible. Jimmy was the father. During month three I miscarried so that was the end of that.
However, Jimmy did a runner within days of the miscarriage. I guess that he was scared that he would be unmasked as an illegal immigrant. It didn't make any difference as he got arrested trying to board a ferry and has since been deported back to Africa.
This left me trying to run the vineyard on my own. I needed help and have now got a couple of young village lads doing most of the work. I fancy one of them but he doesn't seem interested. So now there are two lovely shiny black SBR macks hanging on the bedroom door waiting for use. I do wear Marco's one when I feel down and it gives me some comfort.
Early last year my Dad died and I had to deal with selling up his bungalow in Burton-on Stather in Lincolnshire and get rid of all his stuff. Sad, but it had to be done. One afternoon I ventured into his shed at the bottom of the garden. In it I found my old bike from schooldays and my yellow PVC cape, leggings and sou'wester were draped on the handlebars. I put them on and daydreamed about old times. I heard a tractor coming along the field behind Dad's garden and went out to see what was going on - lucky that I had my old PVC stuff on as he was spraying slurry and I got an over-spray. Naughty, but I waited until he came round again for a second covering before I got under the shower to clean up. When all was done, I brought the cape etc back to Gran Canaria and it's actually quite useful as my 'car' is an open Land Rover with no cab or hood so I wear it when the rains hit. Putting the cape front over the steering wheel works pretty well.
Patricia has been out here recently. We had a wet week just before Christmas. She borrowed my old cape and hat and a pair of my thighboots and made a play for one of my village lads. He ignored her completely and she reckoned that he must have a girl friend or else might be gay. maybe I'll find out one day.
