Walking in full waterproofs
Once a month I go out for a big walk and escape the pressures of life and normally head off with company.
Yesterday was my day and the folk I normally go out with were otherwise engaged and fortunately for me could not make it .Friday night came and I started to pack my gear ,I decided to wear non waterproof clothing for my train journey as I'm still quite nervous about being geared on public transport apart from wearing a cagoule. anyway I arrived at my destination and headed off into the open space where there wasn't a sinner around just myself, maybe the odd fell runner. I arrived at this beautiful waterfall which is very secluded and I decided to take my paramo wind breaker coat off and replaced it with a Peter storm navy size reissue cagoule, pulled on some navy peter storm waterproof trousers and continued my walk swishing along nicely when I came to a old derelict house. I went in to have a look around and decided to pull out my khaki green Peter storm smock cagoule and pulled it on over the navy Peter storm cagoule I was already wearing, pulled both hoods up ,tied the drawstrings and had a nice cuppa tea wearing full waterproofs, watching the world go by and it felt amazing. I continued for another 2mile ish and I was absolutely roasting but the feeling was fantastic swishing along without a care in the world ,before heading back towards the hustle and bustle I stopped for a break again and removed my waterproof clothing and popped my paramo back on and headed back to catch my train beaming from ear to ear in full satisfaction.......
Does anyone of my cagoule friends on here do this ??

Rather similar for me,I enjoy a walk in the countryside even if I am not in rainwear, but to be in either a cagoule or a pvc mac is even better! You mention a fell runner so it sounds as if you are in the Lake District or the Pennines. For me at the opposite end of the country it is usually Bodmin Moor or Dartmoor.

I have easy access to the Yorkshire Dale's and south pennines and love being out in full gear . I have a weakness in cagoules and I love being out in the open with my waterproof clothing on ,hood up drawstrings pulled tight around my face .Rainworshipper wrote: March 8th, 2020, 9:14 am Rather similar for me,I enjoy a walk in the countryside even if I am not in rainwear, but to be in either a cagoule or a pvc mac is even better! I too love wearing my raingear on the train and love a cheeky pint in full waterproofs after a good walk ,it gives me a huge thrill that people may think I'm overdressed or suspect my fetish .MissRachel wrote: March 10th, 2020, 11:17 pmHeavy PVC wearing here. Re: Walking in full waterproofs
I walked to a pub in cagoule and raintrousers yesterday. Bought a pint and sat outside to drink it. Nobody in the pub gave me a second glance and even the few that ventured out for a smoke while I was there said hello and didn't bat an eyelid at a guy wearing a rianjacket and waterproof overtrousers! I think it can be in our heads far more than those that see us. To them we are just wearing appropriate clothing for the weather.

I have bright coloured cags too in bright orange and yellow but tend to keep it low key in public unless I'm geared in the open or dressed at home .spitfire617 wrote: March 13th, 2020, 11:55 amYes and not be obvious in to bright a colour Blue, Green or Black should be ok.Cagoule wrote: March 13th, 2020, 10:41 am I walked to a pub in cagoule and raintrousers yesterday.
