Rained out at Splendour In The Grass music festival

Apparently, NSW's iconic Splendour in the Grass music festival was forced to cancel the first day due to extreme rainfall in Byron Bay. The deluge turned almost every campsite into a boggy swamp. Seems it's been absolute chaos there. The mud is so deep in places that even normal rainboots can't cope with it.
Frankly, I'm glad I didn't go. Although I love wearing plastic & PVC rainwear, I actually don't enjoy getting wet and cold. Sleeping in a saturated tent is not my idea of fun.
Anyway, there's lots of nice rainwear pics in this story ... enjoy
(there's almost as many people who clearly came completely unprepared for the weather - its not as if they didn't have any warning either lol)

Some good pics there. You are certainly not the only PVC/plastic fan who doesn't like getting wet and cold!

I was saying just that to Mum earlier today!
When I see how Europeans dress for outdoor festivals compared to ignorant rainwear-shy Aussies, I want to cringe.
European girls aren't afraid to wear shiny yellow bibpants & jackets for theiur music fix. Here half the idiots at Splendour seem to think a light plastic raincoat (if that) will keep them dry.

Not being funny, but holding a festival in the middle of winter is bound to bring out these types of conditions, it's like us holding Glastonbury in January it be 100 times more muddier than it is in June!!
Not that I'm complaining, it does look good fun over there!

It is a shame for people who have paid for tickets to have it cancelled on the first day, but people at Glastonbury festival have often enjoyed the rain and the mud. I wish we could have some rain in England right now, we are in a dry spell here.

Love Glastonbury, always loads of cagoules if the weather looks dodgy
