Here is one favorite photo of men and women police officers appropriately dressed in Staten Island, New York. It was still raining hard when the arrested the suspects at about 8:45AM. If you look clook closely you can detect streams of water on the raincoats of the policewomen. These are Blauer Defender coats and they will stand up to the worst rain for hours. I own two of these black orange reversible coats.

I wouldn't mind one of those coats.
Are they PVC or nylon?

Neil:
The Blauer Defender are made of two sheets of sturdy nylon that is backed with a coating of PVC. One sheet is black; the other is orange. The coat is reversible black to orange - nylon sides facing out. Joe

Thanks Joe.Postal workers and emergency service people in the UK have coats made in a similar way.
I've never seen long ones though.
