I have just stumbled on this, a film due for general release in Britain on Jan 13. Shot on 35mm film and set in 1973, the trailer seems to show several scenes with traditional rainwear. It is on local release from this Thursday.

That's real "retro" filming
But it's shon on 16 mm film with a Bolex H16 camera. (large) Pic of the set:

I think that red mac looks wonderful and from the looks of it, seems to feature throughout the film.
