I am looking still at wellies on the less expensive price range and want some thoughts on type. I see ones that are rubber and ones that are PVC. Which do you like better? Are PVC ones stiffer? Are rubber ones typically softer? Is one of them typically more shiny than the other? How about aroma?

Hello,
I read a book, and walk in rubber boots. \

Ther can only be one kind of boot, and that is rubber. If you go to a garden centre, you can buy Hunter type rubber boots quite cheaply. Don't spoil the job etc etc.

I will have to blame the typing mistake on my auto-correct on my smart phone or in this case, not-so-smart phone.

Anyway, back to the topic, what are Hunter boots made of? Are they true rubber or a blend of items? Is there any PVC or similar resin in those?

Thank you for the replies. It looks like rubber is winning so far.

Go for the Hunters, or their lookalikes from the garden centres. Hold them to your nose....stroke them...feel how gorgeously smooth they are....you will know there are no others.
