AI storyline take over bid!
It would appear that AI is taking over the world! Advertising, films, politics and now here! My opinion only, but its nothing like the real thing and dead boring!
Re: AI storyline take over bid!
Some people like to use AI to try to create their perfect story or image. They dream of seeing someone in a very specific raincoat that they have never seen since childhood and in that respect AI can be interesting. But for general stories and pictures I find it dull and emotionless - the knowledge that it is computer generated and unreal turns all my interest dials down to zero.

I agree. As in all things in life. Nothing beats the real thing.
Not only are the recent rash of stories predictable, the illustrations that accompany them make what should be representative of rubber or pvc look more like porcelain.

I would agree with this; but if people on here like it then it does not affect me, if there is a post or comment on here that I do not like then I simply do not bother looking any further.Cherie wrote: June 28th, 2024, 7:46 pm Some people like to use AI to try to create their perfect story or image. I think most people’s concern is not that these AI stories and pictures exist here, but that they take over and replace human generated content. I wrote a short reply to one of the AI stories in the form of a girl in a cafe noticing the male character who had come in. It took me about half an hour to write and I was pleased with the result. Why did I bother? In10 seconds I could have asked an AI system to write something similar and not had the hassle of the wasted time since nobody replied to the story. Why bother to spend ages taking photos when you can ask AI to make them up? Maybe this is all human life going forward, not just on this site? Remember the days of buying an LP and taking it home, being excited at owning it and the anticipation of the first listen while reading the album cover? Well now we just conjure up music from a program like Spotify. Remember the nay-sayers when CDs came out, stating that the sound had no soul? Maybe not so different from the march of AI.Rainworshipper wrote: June 29th, 2024, 4:58 am I would agree with this; but if people on here like it then it does not affect me, if there is a post or comment on here that I do not like then I simply do not bother looking any further.

I agree completely. I grew up in the sixties and seventies where everything was exciting, vibrant and REAL! Life now is becoming very stagnant, nothing is exiting anymore. I drove an electric car for the first time yesterday. Wouldnt give tuppence for it! So so boring. I couldnt wait to get back into my MGB. A proper car that is slow, has no gadgets and makes a noise! My high street, once apon a time, used to have proper shops. Butchers, bakers, fishmongers and RECORD shops!!!!!. Now, just two supermarkets, coffee shops galore and charity shops full of unwanted books and dull uninteresting (to me anyway) clothing. Sadly I dont go there anymore. Even the pubs have disappeared. Im getting old and grumpy, as you may well have noticed. Thank god some do gooder has not banned the wearing of rainwear yet! Rant over. Have a nice weekend all of you.

Re: AI storyline take over bid!
I totally agree with all your sentiments!
I have written stories that do take ages to write!
I.E The Wedding Photographer and The Isle of Wight Ferry.
As some one said on the ferry one the images are weird!
That was done as I have not got any of my own images I could use.
There are also stories from the past that were not written with A I..
There are comments on the A I generated stories which is fine by me but it seems strange that there are no comments on the home crafted stories!
I was experimenting to see what was produced.
And yes I do agree repetitive and as a computer app it does not have soul.
It is not used all the time.
Best wishes.
Paul

The crux of the issue is return on investment. remember Jellyman telling me that he was disappointed that a story he had spent ages crafting over a number of days was met with so few responses. I confess I was one of the many that read it but did not comment, so easy for him to think it was not appreciated (which I put him straight on as far as I was concerned). AI offers a quick fix and somebody said they use it to create a framework for a document (work related) then read it, check, correct and change some of the wording. The result, he said, was better than he could have done himself in half the time. The key is to let the AI do the heavy lifting and add the soul to get the best of both worlds maybe.spitfire617 wrote: June 29th, 2024, 9:57 am I totally agree with all your sentiments!

Re: AI storyline take over bid!
I find that the AI Stories come out in "American English" So yes I do spell check and grammer check them. I am not bothered about comments.
I will stick to good old fashioned type written stories if that makes sense?

The problem with the recent AI's is that they are Top-down models. They don't have a real understanding of such abstract concepts like fetish. They don't have emotions. They just try to simulate human behavior. And they manage to get a shallow illusion of that. But if it goes deeper, they fail miserably.
