Just got a shiny blue pvc mac with white press studs and white tasles for the price of 50 quid. I'm worried about wearing it cause other macs made from pvc completely have fell apart after just 20 minutes of wearing and don't want to end up with a mac like that, should I wear it or not?

What I would do is to get a square metre of blue material from PVC u Like so that if it tears then you will be able to mend it with some soft plastic glue from Bostick.

What are you doing in it? With normal wear it should last years.

I get mine off Ebay from people who sell them, maybe the question is what are they doing with them, are they applying something to the macs that make them fall apart? they should be alright because they supposed to be new and never worn ones.

If it is PVC U LIKE it should last quite well, but need to avoid stressing the seams. There is a video on YT from a bloke about applying a glue to seams to make them stronger - no idea how good it is as have not tried. I hope your new raincoat gives you years of good shiny service and it isn’t consigned to the wardrobe through fear of what might happen.

What planet are you living on? If our raincoats "fall apart in 20 mins" we would not have been in business for over 30 years. Our return rate is less than 1% of sales. When we receive raincoats that have a been returned "faulty" it is usually because too much strain has been put on a seam. The seams are only as strong as the PVC itself. Normally we can see a jaggered edge which confirms the coat has been ripped. Rarely we will see that a seam has come apart, this is generally because a machine was faulty (they are over 60 years old now!). If a customer communicates with us we will always try and help, generally we will repair coats for a small price, we have even repaired coats from other suppliers for those that talk to us nicely! Sometimes instead of talking to us first, customers come on here and start slagging us off without any foundation at all. I suggest Beth Bennet stops being a drama queen, wear's the mac as it is intended and enjoy yourself instead of whinning on here.

The only PUL raincoats I have ripped were my 2 black and red trenchcoats. I got a little carried away.

I have over 100 PVC U LIKE macs in various styles, colours and lengths
Let alone well over 50 rain suits, Pjs, nighties, bodysuits, hoods etc and all still going strong from months to years if they are looked after and stored properly.
The key like any PVC garments is to size up so you don’t stress seams like under the arms especially if like I like to wear 4 plus macs at a time.
The only time I’ve had a tear is on an attached hood around the seam where I have been over exuberant with a breathplay session.
PVC U LIKE makes wonderful garments, lovely people to do business with and great value for money, and certainly unique that I would lost without them as I wear their clothing everyday, and at night including all their bedding without issue.
So have no hesitation in buying the best PVC macs on the market

Totally agree that looking after PVC outfits from PUL means they last much longer. Personally I like to buy one size too small because I adore the close fitting feeling without being too tight. I accept that I probably stress garments more than I should as a result, but it is the price I’m willing to pay for the fabulous feeling of the soft plastic on bare skin. But if it is too tight you lose the sensation, so there has to be a bit of room to make the material move and create that lovely feeling as it does.
