Raincoats with headscarves

Hi - new on here, but I have been out and about in the rain for many years in a variety of rainwear. Currently I wear 3 or 4 layered raincoats, finishing with a country-style full length coat, Lighthouse Outback, Champion Sandringham, Jack Murphy Malvern, worn on top of one or two long polyester waterproof coats, and one rubber-lined nylon trencoat. I always complete my outfit with four or five layered headscarves, from various proffed fabrics after about an hour or so in heavy rain, I appear completely soaked, even though I am actually totally dry. Does anyone else share my love of headscarves to complete their rainwear ensemble?

Hi I'm liking way you have so many layers on when you go out in the rain and wearing so many scarves it must be wonderful walking around in the rain getting wet, i love walking around in the rain getting wet also maybe not wearing as many layers but still getting wet in your favourite raincoat is great. Where abouts are you from and do you get a lot of rain.

I'm in Wales, and yes - we get a lot of rain! We also have some fairly easily accessible waterfalls, which I need all of my layers to venture under!

I don't have any headscarves, but I think women look quite stylish in them, although a bit like PVC macs they are rarely worn these days.
Your comment about venturing under a waterfall reminds me the start of me wearing rainwear out to deliberately get a thrill from it, when I was about twelve I stood under a small cascade of water wearing my rainwear and I enjoyed the soaking I got.

Rona from North East UK often used to pose in a nice normal full length PVC mac with a headscarf

Yes I think it's a great addition to a nice raincoat and after seeing your outfit i am going to purchase some more scarf's to try and replicate the same as you, where would you suggest that I look and what size are your scarf's.

Most of my scarves are really shawl size, including the black & red one in the picture, about 110 cm, though I have some smaller 90 cm scarves, and the totes rain scarves are smaller still + only about 70cm. I have found most of them at charity shops, though it's getting harder to find them! I waterproof them with outdoor camping type waterproofing, which generally works pretty well, but sometimes gives me problems, when the outer layer is penetrated but not the inner, and the water pools around the knot!

That's a good idea to search for them at charity shops, I've only just been looking on Amazon and there not to many of the large 110cm square ones only the 90cm one's, I do have a scarf but thought of getting a few more to emulate your idea

You should definitely wear a headscarf under your rain bonnets- tied Kelly style, will be so much more snug & secure.
