I must admit I haven't heard of her before/didn't know her name - many of her pics of that time show her in a very Monroe-esque style. Could be Marilyn's sister

.

Marilyn's sister? I can see where you are coming from there! Diana Dors was well-known in the UK in the 1950s and 1960s as a pin-up girl and actress - becoming known by the media of the time as Britain's answer to Marilyn Monroe. The same can be said of glamour model/actress Sabrina, who was also known as Britain's answer to Marilyn - few pics of her:

Cheers Beth - glad you liked it! The mac is of its time but I agree with you - it is rather lovely.

Brought back memories of that heady 50's odour-a combination of lipstick, perfume, rubberprpoofing, and, unfortunately, in many cases, stale tobacco smoke.

Diana Dors was indeed billed as Britain's answer to M.M. & all but one of her films displayed her as a pouting , busty blonde. The exception was "Yield to the Night" in which she gave an outstanding portrail of a convicted murderer in the condemned cell on 24 hour watch as she awaits the answer to her appeal against execution. No glamour, no makeup, just a prison smock & all filmed in that single cell. Like Marilyn Monroe she was a wasted talent After leaving movies she evidently ran some notable orgies at her home. Yes, the mack is stunning.

After the Edith Thompson business, women sentenced to death in the UK were made to put on waterproof underwear (of what exact type there seems to differing accounts-rubber, rubberized or canvas) on the morning of their execution. Men were, apparently, not similarly treated.

Links to films/programmes where an actress is wearing such a mac are quite difficult to come by - sadly!
