This girl modeling a pink 'rain slicker' claims they are back in fashion, I'm sure we all hope she is right.

wow, I know Wilson's. They have good stuff, mainly from China. So it looks like that the slickers outer shell is made of 100% vinyl. Sad that they do not make longer coats.

Actually, if you look on Wilsons website they do have a longer version of this coat in black only.

Yes the longer version looks ok but they seem to come in smaller sizes.

These look better value though are priced in U.K Pounds and do not know postage costs? Could be expensive if posted to the U.S

And more colours too.

Well it remains to be seen if they truly are making a comeback. I will be keeping my eyes peeled this spring for sure.

Up to size 24 which is quite large / cost of post to US - £30 , coat is less 20% vat if bought from US, therefore saving cover 1/2 postage

nice to see the attempt, but they need to be far cheaper than $69 to have widespread usage. in 1975-1980 one could buy a slicker at a drug store, discount store, flea market or outlet store for as low as $3 , and no more than $15.

girls bought them and threw them in their car; guys bought them for their girlfriend (or even a girl they wanted to impress) if that girl was caught in the rain without anything

I bought several and gave them away.

even taking into account inflation $70 is a lot more now than $3 in 1977

Buying a pvc raincoat worked for me in 1979!
Had it in the car.
One night a girl whom I knew had no coat or umbrella with her and it had started to rain so I asked if she wanted a coat and she said yes.

So she put it on and went home she had to meet some one but it was the begining of an eighteen month friendship!

True, the first slicker I bought with my own money was a kelly green pvc reversible to navy rayon fabric (almost denim feel to it) for $10 in 1987. By 1995 that same raincoat was selling for $30-40, if you could even find one like it. No wonder a lot of nostalgia lovers are charging a pretty penny for them on ebay.
