Excellent picture. Unless I'm mistaken she's wearing one of those splendid Harglenis polyurethane macs that were very popular with women (and I suspect men) of all ages in the mid 1980's. Examples in black were worn by "Angie" in "Eastenders" and "Audrey" in "Coronation Street". My wife had one in mid-blue but only wore it reluctantly-and if pressed-which rather took the shine off things, so to speak.
Out and about in East London in steady rain last Saturday, when once upon a time many such macs would have been in evidence, I saw only one shiny coat at all. A very attractive lady wearing a lemon yellow, shiny, press stud fastening, PVC jacket with a navy cotton lining came into the cafe where we having lunch with her son but quickly took it off and hung it over the back of her chair.

Nice coat, lady , picture - assume you enjoyed your time with the "older" woman - something I have always wished I had done - but too late now
