Edwardian Rainwear?

Found this today, taken in the early 1900's, a studio portrait of young woman posing in what I presume is an Oilskin Mackintosh....what a great picture but sometimes you wonder why!!!

She's very pretty! and I just bet she must have liked wearing her raincoat to the extent she wanted to pose for this photo on it.

I think this would probably be classified as marinewear rather than rainwear.
Here's a picture of the actress Gladys Cooper in similar clothing. This may have been to promote a film or a stage play.

I have read that there were early fetish groups who used to like to dress up in oilskins. What was that King Solomon said again?
