Paralympics Opening ceremony

Wow, what a night, and the highlight for us I'm sure was the highlight, hundreds of dancers carrying glowing umbrellas but wearing plastic macs.

Wonderful, and the rest was inspiring too.

Indeed it was a spectacular event...the opening ceremony and yes a fine array of plastic macs but now the question

Where do all those plastic macs go now

Can"t see them being worn after the Paralympics

I think you will find those "macs" werent actually plastic!

I don't know what kind of material the macs were made from but it was definately not plastic, very disappointing.

Hopefully some decent rainwear will make an appearance over the next few days.

are you sure as I was positive the ones carrying the umbrellas to go with the flag bearers were wearing plastic dresses / macs. they looked very nice to me especially the GB one or is that me being very patriotic.....

You're quite right - in the athlete's parade, the girls who were escorting the flag bearer from each country were wearing real plastic dresses and carrying clear plastic umbrellas.

But earlier in the ceremony, the "raincoats" that the dancers were wearing were not plastic or pvc.

Not 100% sure, some kind of open weave material with a shiny finish. Cire Nylon perhaps.
