FRIENDS – Part 1

It’s the end of another work week. After picking up his car from the train station car park, James heads directly to Lisa’s. As he pulls into Lisa’s drive he is surprised to see another car there, a silver Volvo Cross Country. He and Lisa have not yet got out into each others social circles, so he does not have a clue who it could be. Lisa must have heard him pull in because the kitchen door opens and Henry bounds out to greet him. With wagging tail and barks of delight Henry jumps up and enjoys a good head stroking from James. The two of them head to the kitchen.

Lisa is at the door and greats him with a kiss and say’s “Hi darling, come in and meet my oldest friend Kate, she’s visiting from Bournemouth”. Introductions over, James joins them at the kitchen table for coffee. Kate is tall and slender like Lisa, but has short auburn hair and more rounded features. She looks around the same age as Lisa, but he cannot tell for sure. Both women are dressed similar in jeans and sweaters, though Kate’s is blue and Lisa’s is a fuchsia. Between them they tell James Kate’s story, that she’s an only child, she and Lisa went to private boarding school together and then onto the same college together as well, that she to is widowed and unfortunately her husband John was killed in a car accident 10 years ago. That they had often visited with each other, spending weekends at each others through out the years.

Finding out that Kate and Lisa had not been able to get together for over a year, James says “I’m sure Lisa would agree and if you have no pressing reason to return home, why don’t you stay for the weekend, it would give you girls a chance to catch up”. “That’s a fabulous idea” Lisa adds, “and you can get to know James as well, I think you will enjoy him”. “Well I’d love to and it’s been a long time since I have had the pleasure of some male company” Kate responds. Lisa and Kate looking at each other both let out a laugh and have a knowing grin on their faces, which James does not catch. He’s in thoughts of his own that one weekend without them dressing for pleasure in PVC or rubber will not hurt and it will show Lisa their relationship is being built on more than just that.

“I’m just going to change out of my suit and maybe we can head into town for a something to eat” James says as he gets up from the table and starts towards the bedroom. Just lately he had been bringing extra clothes to Lisa’s and leaving them there. It saved going home to an empty house just to change. Although with his commute up to London each working day it was still easier to live at his house during the week, especially as he had purchased it specifically to be close to the railway station.

Having changed into a black polo shirt and beige Dockers, he grabbed his dull black PVC cagoule and slipped it on, enjoying the feeling of cool dull black PVC on his bare arms and went back into the kitchen. Both ladies were ready to leave for dinner. Lisa had on her baby pink PVC mac and to his surprise and delight Kate was wearing a glossy bright blue PVC mac with a hood, which she had belted tight around her waist. What a fabulous sight these two ladies were.

“So what would you two gorgeous ladies like” James asked, adding “it’s my treat”. With a mischievous grin Lisa replies “we’ll tell you that later and it what it will be, but for now let’s go to The Plough, its close by and they have good food”.

This has all the ingredients to be another enthralling installment of this fantastic story, I'm so looking forward to the next part!

Great start to the story. Well written so far. I have a mental image of Lisa in the baby pink mac now!!
