Stephie?

I've noticed all your posts pointing to Alibaba.

Are you for real or are you just some china man who works for the Alibaba marketing department impersonating a Rainwear fan?

I know the Chinese will go to great lengths to get people to look at their sites but this maybe the most elaborate method to date and is taking things to a new level!

You could be my new sourcing manager, it would make things so much easier

thanks for the links all the same.

regards

Gary

my main concern is that alot of these Chinese sites use generic pictures and I wonder if what you woudl actually get is anything like the items pictured, the phrase caveat emptor applies even more when dealing with foreign websites

I know what you mean, I'm often tempted by some of the Chinese sellers on eBay, most of them seem to have good feedback but there always seem to be a few negatives for non delivery

I would be more concerned about healthy issues. Don't trust chinese " business " mens, they don't care about their customers. The softerner is toxic? Who cares if it's cheap. Just remember the milk scandal, or the lead in toys....

Guys

It has taken me over 15 years with numerous visits to Hong Kong and the mainland to wheedle out trustworthy chinese suppliers from the dodgy ones. In all that time I have found two that actually do what I want them to do, I have to spell out everything to them or they will find a shortcut to save costs. We have to accept that if we want their cheap prices we have to take risks like quality, sizing etc. I send my own patterns out to China and source my own material to the correct specification and supply the material to the factory so there are no mistakes, like i said this has taken 15 years to hone.

I think that Ali express has its place but because you are buying single items they ramp the price up, admittedly it is still a reasonable price but then you have to wait and see if the garment is anything like the one in the picture, whether its the right size, colour and after you have worn it on a couple of occasions whether its still in one piece

If you have some money to spare and fancy taking the risk there is not a problem with this strategy, if you want to pay a bit more, maybe wait a couple of weeks and have a quality garment come to PVC-U-LIKe ;)

cheers

Gaz

I know exactly where you are coming from Gary. Working for a company who deal with foreign suppliers (Indian in this case) I know all to well how unreliable they can be and how they cut every corner possible. They are cheap for a reason.
