I don't think it is just me that must have noticed, but e-bay seems to be advertising quite a few Rukka style raincoats recently when last year you could not find one anywhere.

I don't think someone is manufacturing them all of a sudden, but it does seem that a few people have acquired some and are quite better off financially judging by some of the prices they have sold for. Normally they are appearing in a Green matt finish not the glossy style raincoats.

Speaking of e-bay, In the last two months there have been some great bargains on e-bay- Germany recently. Raincoats similar to the Rukka ones I mentioned, but larger shinier ones made by Bormax have been going for about 80 euros. Today I received a stunning shiny Black PVC original Yarmouth Mackintosh in the large size - about 48 inch chest - which looked totally unused, for which I paid about 100 euros, the most I have ever spent on an e-bay raincoat.

Has anyone here purchased one of the Rukka mackintoshes and what are they like ?

If anyone does visit e-bay germany try typing in " Gummimantel, Lackmantel or Regenmantel PVC " and see what they have on offer, some good quality rainwear at the moment.

I got one of those red Bormax macs for only 91 euros last Sunday ... lovely!

Regarding your comments about Rukka raincoats, the supply thing is very cyclical. People are starting to realise that there is money to be made from them, which would explain the relative abundance of Rukkas right now. One seller clearly has links to a very large charity or something like that. He scours England for used macs. Matt green is by far the most common colour and the (low) prices reflect these, although it hasn't stopped opportunistic sellers from pricing them up.

Put a shiny yellow Rukka of any variety on eBay and see how much it goes for. I've only seen about 3-4 of those appear in 7 years.

One turned up in early 2012. It sold for $980.

I courted financial meltdown, but I now have four: one black man's with great collar w'/neck strap, one green one as above, one
drab military one, and one red with hood and quilt lining. The drab has three crowns so I figured it must be Swedish military. It is the
same as a two pack that I got from Sportsman's HQ some time ago, but they have the three crowns and don't say "Rukka" as the
recent one. But would Sweden make a contract with a Finnish outfit? Or did the Finns copy the Swedish pattern, or what? Can anybody
solve the mystery?
