Quick question if I may.

Who wears rain capes these days?

Don't get me wrong but I do like them but buying one for my wife as a gift maybe isn't the right thing to do.

Help please folks.

Cyclists - many of the adverts for rain capes seem to use cycling as the excuse to have one - so maybe you need to buy her a bike as well !
What about a poncho as a cross between a rain cape & a mac ?

Don't like ponchos but it's an idea.

Not enough people wear rain cape and it is a shame. I often wear a rain cape for walking under the rain

We wear our rain capes when we can.

Much rainy days and typical dutch style: Rainponcho's..

Not sure about the term, "Rainponchos", and perhaps there is a miscommunication here.

I was thinking more along the lines of "true capes" as opposed to ponchos.

I often wear my black rubberised cotton cape when walking in the rain as it is so convenient to slip over another coat and gives full protection. I bought it at Weathervain many years ago and it is still in excellent condition.
I agree with cirevinyl that we don't see enough of them out and about these days.

I decided to buy a cape for my wife. It's described as waterproof and windproof and it's a Glastonbury Cape from Rainmac and it's in red.

More results when she opens the package on Mothers Day on May 10.

This looks a lovely inexpensive cape and I'm sure that your wife will be pleased with her Mothers Day present.
