rainwear, wellies and snow

Dublin has been covered in snow this weekend so I've been wearing my raingear and wellies.
I have tucked my waterproof pants into my wellies and worn my rainmack and got some very approving looks from ladies!!!
Surprisingly, many people out walking wore their runners rather than wellies.
But for me the feel and noise of my waterproof pants is so arousing.
I took a bus to the city 'cos it wasn't safe to drive and I saw people there wearing wellies.
a couple in their mid 20s I guess had matching Hunter wellies and nylong macks.
I imagine she told him to wear his wellies.

I'd wear my own PVC rainsuit more often, but I really just can't hack the smell of it for long periods

This is a pity because, like you say WellyBoy, the feeling is very arousing, but I find the PVC smell on many garments almost toxic-like! Perhaps the ones I'm buying are just too cheap? Because I've bought some that don't smell or are very mild, and I quite like them

Hi,
There are a lot of girls and women out wearing some great colourful wellies around in South Wales at the moment with all the sleet and slush still around, only two girls wearing Hunters though, one Green set and one Red pair.
The only raincoats i have seen around are Barbour style wax jackets and some expensive but great looking Drizabone waxed trenchcoats - they are nice looking when worn with jeans.

have to agree the wellies very handy in this weather
oh and top cat, if you really dislike the smell of pvc do something to get rid of it, wear it in the bath afew times wth abit of shower gel and the smell of the pvc will disappear in no time, you may also find it quite a pleasant experience if you do not wear anything underneath it

No Wellyboy, unfortunately no see-through macs or yellow rainwear this time round. Maybe I might have better look on these when the tourists come back for our damp summer.
It was really nice to see that even on the few dry days this week when almost all the snow and ice had dissappeared, quite a few girls were still wearing their wellies. I was in town, and I spotted one girl in short black Hunters, one girl in shiny black full-size wellies, and one girl bouncing proudly along in her Penneys lilac flowery shiny wellies. It really brghtens up my day. Did you see any see through macs in the snow?

Hi Shauna,
I saw a girl wearing a transparent plastic raincoat during the snow. She had a jacket underneath and was wearing rainpants tucked into shiny red wellies. She was standing beside me waiting for a bus early morning. I presumed she was going to work. I was hoping to sit beside her on the bus and maybe strike up a conversation with her about her mack.
But she say beside an elderly lady and I sat a few seats behind her.
I love the slocky sound and feel of those plastic macks, particularly when wearing wellies!
Have you worn your wellies and mack during the snow?

I'm afraid we don't get any snow here ... not even during winter (it's summer now) but that didn't stop me wearing my clear PVC-U-LIKE mac and shiny yellow rain boots (wellies) to the supermarket in the rain today... nobody gave me so much as a second look, although they were busy.
What an unbelievable pleasure it is wearing good quality rubber rain boots in this weather... it's so nice keeping my feet and pants dry!
