During Expo 2000, I had seen some exhibition staff in very nice wrapping skirts, made from similar cloth as the light k-way jackets, they had matching jackets of course. A little bit later, I found a pencil skirt from Fishbone on ebay and actually got it. It is made from the typical polyester fabric, dark blue, short front zipper and a long opening on the back for the ease of walking. I wonder if such - and other rain skirts - are still available, and where.

I believe that you can get them in white for bowls, the rules on clothing are quite strict at some clubs I gather and ladies would not wear trousers. Others may know more about this than me.

It is a while ago, but I think, that the Agu skirt is what they had at Expo 2000. Perhaps I'll order one.

Today, I made a wraparound skirt from an old cape. Basically, I cut off the shoulder part. To wear it, one has to step inside, then fold the top over the navel and roll the border in to secure it. It is not as stylish as the agu skirt, but looks good. Photo to follow.

Looks nice. Skirts are handy to wear as a guy, lots of room and easy access for your partner!

As a matter of fact, I love wearing skirts - and Indian sarees too btw. Looking at my pictures, I think, I can wear it on my bike, if the weather is appropriate. It should be a nice alternative to rain pants, along with a cagoule or jacket. It could also be quite protective in winter, we have a lot of snow right now and I have a racing bike, no mudguards. I have to see, if I can ride it with that skirt.

But I really have to think about a reinforcement of top and bottom, or this skirt won't last long, it is quite thin pvc. Any ideas are welcome!

Peter Storm made waterproof skirts in the early 80s. Quite a number of girls at my school wore them in royal or navy blue as an alternative to the waterproof trousers worn by the boys. I recently saw a green Peter Storm waterproof skirt for sale on ebay although they seem to be extremely rare.

These skirts aren't cheap, but they look really nice and apparently there is some work in them. Too feminine for myself, but certainly a nice addon to a women's wardrobe. And it seems, that each skirt is unique.

I got one of the agu rain skirts now. I think, this is not the one from Expo 2000, but it is very nice. It is a pity, that Agu stopped making them.
