Here's a nice video from British Pathe: http://www.britishpathe.com/record.php?id=83418
I sure would like to have that red plastic raincoat the woman in the video is wearing.

wow, super ladies raincoat, Glorious times. As I can remember, Woolworths had almost the same raincoats on sale in the early 70s, late 60s. Any other who can remember ? I like the white pocktes and the white collar on the shiny red raincoat. What a nice video.

If only someone would make these thicker PVC macs, they would sell in no time. Even though more girls are wearing PU raincoats they would probably spark more demand for thicker plastic that lasts longer.
Still, the colours are wonderful - the White mac looks just as sexy as the Red.

Aahh, for the good old days when you wore plastic outdoors halfway through the winter! Great old scene and in great color resolution considering how old it is. Thanks!!

Here are some more videos to remind us of those halcyon days in the 1950/60's when fully waterproof mackintoshes were the vogue. It must have been wonderful see and hear these rustling in the high streets.!! :D :D

British Pathe -I enjoyed them all especially
