Travelling in your mackintosh

How many members have worn mackintoshes during the daily travel to and from work. I used to wear my SBR mack every Friday from Winchester to London. I did this for about 18 months. I will admit that I only wore the mack while waiting for the train and from Waterloo station to my place of work in Park Lane. Have any other members done this.

well as i either walk or cycle to work I do wear waterproof gear in the rain. Usually nylon rainjacket and rainpants on my bike or sometimes plastic raincoat when walking, someone reckoned I looked like I came form the matrix

I wear my mackintoshes everytime it is raining or wet weather is forecast. I just love the admiring looks from my fellow travellers when I get on the bus wearing my rubberised satin or SBR macs.

I have always worn my SBR trenchcoat to and from work not just during rain but whenever it is colder as well. When my car was in the garage for a few weeks last year I wore it regularly on the bus back and fore work. I did get some nice remarks mainly from older women who had'nt seen a rubber mackintosh since they were younger at school, one or two even asked if they could stroke my sleeve as the rubber smell brought some memories back to them.

During a few thunderstorms I regularly took my Souwester also but I did'nt know of any strange looks or comments people were too busy desparately trying to stay dry. There are quite a few girls at work who have shorter length raincoats they wear so I think they are getting more popular.

I did wear my Very shiny PVC mackintosh on a bus last year as it was raining so hard and a student even asked if they could buy it from me later on - I think they had seen one similar on e-bay going for a lot more !

I think though providing that the weather is suitable you will get away with wearing most any raingear as long as the colour isn't too bright if your a guy.

My rubber lined mack goes everywhere with me. I wear it in the rain, and if it is fine, I carry it. In the supermarket I drape it over the handle of the trolley so I can touch it, stroke it and even kiss it surreptitiously as I bend down to reach lower shelves.
If I am alone in the car I lay my mack on the passenger seat, with the rubber lining exposed, and sometimes I will lay it accross my lap as I drive, but only on journeys out of the city.
If I were the Desert Island Castaway it would be a hard choice which one item I would be cast away with, my guitar or my mack. As I am a lorry driver by trade, I carry two rubber lined macks with me in the truck, and wear one of them at any and every opportunity. I love my rubber macks.

I only wear my raingear when there is at least a hint (40% chance) of rain, and while traveling, if not raining, it is in the top pocket of my wheeled bag.

I bring rainwear with me all of the time. You don't want to get caught out.
I sometimes have to take the car if I am visiting business colleages in industrial parks. Sometimes I will give a female colleague a lift and I always have my mackintosh or plastic mac on the backseat.
Only last Wednesday I was giving a female colleague a lift to a meeting and as it was raining I had my navy Jeantex coat on the back seat. We couldn't get a parking space immediately in the vicinity of the offices we were visiting, so I parked in a public car park about 300 yards away.
My female colleague had a short puffa coat on her and I put on my jeantex which is 3/4 length and has a hood. She remarked how lovely the colour was and how nice it was and she asked where I bought it. I said TKMax.
As I removed my raincoat in the reception area of the offices, she remarked that she must buy one as they look lovely.

I wear on a daily basis my klepper cape and my black Hunter wellies, as I like so much me to be dressed with rubber.
Wherever I have to go, whatever is the weather, by foot, car, bus or train.
Never had any problem with anybody.

I wear my matt black pvc mac when walking to work if it's light rain. I sometimes take the car if it's heavy rain but I still wear my mac.

Near the end of april, about the 26th and 27th, we go to London for a visit with my Master.
As every day, I shall have to wear my rubber shirt and jeans, and my wellies and Klepper cape during the travel.
He has planed a shopping time in Kew Gardens, at WeatherVain's, where we should buy a SBR mac and a SBR cape to supplement the range of rainwear which I have to be dressed in, in all circumstances.
I hope we'll be fortunate enough to find there all what we are looking for.
